We walk to find a cause. We walk to find a cure.

Thousands are coming together in communities throughout the nation to give hope for those whose lives have been affected by preeclampsia. The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia enables the Preeclampsia Foundation to provide hope, support and valuable information to millions of mothers and babies every year who will be impacted by preeclampsia and related disorders of pregnancy.

Many of us have heard the word preeclampsia, but not everyone – even some expecting mothers – knows what it is. Yet, one in 12 pregnancies are affected by this life-threatening disorder for mother and baby. And any woman, regardless of age, race and even general health, can suffer from it.

Knowing the signs and symptoms can lead to more timely diagnosis and diligent health care. No mother should have to share her story of survival or tragedy during such a special time in life. Raising awareness can save lives and keep mothers and babies together, where they belong.

How you can help.

  1. Register, support or volunteer for a Promise Walk for Preeclampsia in your area. Find a list of cities here.
  2. Donate $25 today. Just $25 will put information about the warning signs in the hands of 50 pregnant women.
  3. Donate $125 today. $125 will educate five health care providers so they know how to diagnose and manage preeclampsia with the latest information.
  4. Spread the word. Grab our web button for your blog or website, and join us on Facebook and Twitter to help raise awareness about this life-threatening disorder.
